Half-term thrills as Brighton Marina transforms into Fright on Marina

Brighton Marina is offering a free Halloween film and story trail suitable for all ages this half-term.

Between 12pm – 7pm every day, between Wednesday 28th to Saturday 31st October, (open until 9pm on Saturday,) the Marina is offering a safe and entertaining way to celebrate Halloween with its Spooktacular Halloween Trail named Fright on Marina.

Sophie Chandler, marketing manager for Brighton Marina, said, “Everybody needs some fun and some safe distraction in these challenging times, so an outdoor Halloween trail felt the perfect event for our visitors and residents.”

“Fright On Marina is a sitewide spooky trail route that takes visitors to every corner of the Marina, where they experience Spooky Window installations, inspired by classic films and stories. Watch out for the characters that come alive!”

Annalise White, founder of Marina Studios Foundation who is hosting one of the installations said, “Marina Studios are really excited to be part of the Spooktacular Halloween Trail. We can’t wait to see lots of ghoulish faces staring in our window trying to figure out which book or film our installation is from?”

Families need to book online for an allocated time slot, booking is essential, then dress up, download the map and follow the clues to find all 10 spooky windows, then claim your Ghostly Prize!

The map will have the films/stories listed as a find me list, then landmarks around the marina will be clues as to where each installation is. Booking a timed slot is essential to ensure social distancing and to adhere to Covid rules.

The Marina has a free car park with blue badge parking facilities for wheelchair users on the ground floors and boardwalk level, with ramps and lift available from the street level up to the boardwalk.

Brighton Marina is an artificial marina situated in Brighton, England. It features a working harbour and residential housing alongside a variety of leisure, retail and commercial activities.

The construction of the marina itself took place between 1971 and 1979, although developments within it have continued ever since.
