Two boys charged with street robberies after Hassocks incident

Two teenage boys have been charged with street robberies following an incident in Hassocks.

Police say that one of the boys - agedd 17 - is accused of robbing a victim of his electric mountain bike after threatening him in Underhill Lane, Hassocks, on Wednesday September 9 and using threatening behaviour towards another victim in Lewes Road, Brighton, on Friday September 11.

He appeared at Crawley Magistrates’ Court on Monday and was released on bail to appear at Worthing Youth Court on October 22.

The other boy, also aged 17, is accused of robbing a victim of his bag and belongings in Beaconsfield Villas, Brighton, on Friday September 11. He also appeared at Crawley Magistrates’ Court on Monday and was released on bail to appear at Worthing Youth Court on October 8.

The boys cannot be named for legal reasons.
