The beach at Birling Gap has been temporarily closed due to a rockfall over the New Year’s period, Wealden District Council (WDC) has said.

A spokesperson from the council explained that despite this the National Trust car park, café and the walks along the top of the cliffs are all still open.

The Birling Gap section of the beach will be closed until further notice, WDC said on Thursday, January 5.
