LETTER: Cost of policing anti-social acts

I was intrigued to read the Public Notice in your paper placed by Police Superintendent Jacqueline Griffiths relating to authority to deal with anti-social behaviour under Section 30 of the Anti-Social Behaviour Act 2003.

Have we really reached the stage where police officers are unable to deal with such behaviour without first announcing their intention to do so by placing an advertisement in the local press – the cost of which is presumably borne by the local tax payers?

I am further intrigued by the expiry of the authorisation to act granted by the Public Notice, shown as ‘27.13.13’. What month is that then?
