NHS figures, released today, have confirmed the number of people who have now died with Covid-19 in East Sussex hospitals.

According to data from NHS England, a total of 24 people have died from the virus in hospitals operated by the East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust.

The latest figures from Public Health England, updated on Wednesday (April 8), showed 229 people in East Sussex had tested positive for Covid-19.

The death toll of patients in England has risen by 765 in the past 24 hours, taking the total to 7,248.
