Watch Eastbourne Silver Band play Sussex By the Sea – while social distancing

Social distancing rules meant the band couldn’t physically get together to practice, so they got creative.

More than 20 musicians recorded their parts individually by video, then all their instruments – trumpets, trombones, French horns, tuba, and even the drums – were edited together to recreate the iconic county tune.

Meanwhile, the conductor shared a special message thanking NHS staff and other key workers for their hard work during these challenging times.

It said, “Eastbourne Silver Band would like to thank all NHS and frontline staff. You are our heroes.

“Please help our NHS by staying at home. To everyone stay safe and thank you.”
