A HIGH point in the construction of an eco-friendly education centre was achieved with a traditional topping out ceremony.
Iain Lambert, who has been involved with the Tuppeny Barn organic enterprise since the start of work, climbed to the highest point of the centre to secure an oak tree.
Watched by an audience of donors and supporters of the project, Iain placed the branch at the top of a circular cedar shingle roof.
Below him was the framework of an education centre which, when complete, will enable Tuppenny Barn to expand its environmental courses for local schools and also provide an indoor centre for community events.
Maggie Haynes, director and project co-ordinator at Tuppenny Barn, said: “The new education centre will enable us to extend our educational programme without having to depend on the weather as well as creating an indoors area for community events and courses.”
