But that was never the plan when she started writing it.

“I started writing as a passion project for myself,” explains Julia. “Then it just grew and I decided I wanted to share these stories with other people.

“The series wasn’t meant to be a series but I just had too much content for one book so I decided to make it a trilogy.”

The first is on available to pre-order on February 14 and goes on sale April 6.

Julia, who lives in Tangmere, fits her writing around her two children, aged six and ten, and her job at Rolls Royce, where she has worked for the last 15 years.

“The way I get it done is through dedication,” she says.

“Authors talk about the 5am club and I am very much in that club. I write in the early morning and at night. But it never feels like a chore, it is more of when I can do it rather than ‘oh man I have to do it’.”

Trust in You centres on Ella. Her world is turned upside down after she moves from England to rural Kansas. Then she meets the older and mysterious Adam Brook who sweeps Ella off her feet but can he be trusted?

“All my books are romances as that is what I love to read,” explains Julia, “something you can chill out and read and not have to think too much. Books for the beach I like to think of them as.”

The next in the trilogy Believe in Me is due out the end of 2020 but in between Julia is writing Shockwaves, a futuristic romance set in Germany in 2151.

“I decided to self publish as it gave me more control,” she says.

“I had already designed the cover, and didn’t want to be tied down by deadlines so felt I could do it myself.”

Julia is also a member of local authors group called Chindi - A network of independent authors.

“It is a great support for new authors and somewhere you can go and talk to other authors,” reveals Julia.

“I really love writing and love that what started as a hobby can be shared with other people.”
