Ladyfest kicks off next week

riart Grrrls is proud to present Ladyfest: a celebration of imperfection for International Women’s Day from March 6 to 8 in aid of Refuge East Sussex

riart Grrrls is an entirely volunteer-led collective of local artists and performers who believe that Ladyfest is a wonderful grassroots celebration of all self-identifying-female-led creativity in this town.

On Thursday (March 6) from 7pm is the screening of trailer for A Difficult Birth, as we;ll as a presentation by Janey Moffatt, Laloë and music by Kat Lee-Ryan at Moose’s Kitchen, in Kings Road. Janey will show photographs and film clips from her experiences with young mothers in Afghanistan, where she recently travelled with peace activist Maya Evans. Kat Lee-Ryan, lead singer of The Fabulous Red Diesel, will performing songs about daughters, mothers and sisters.

Friday (March 7) from 8pm sees A Day in the life of a Woman, written by Lisa Harmer-Pope and directed by Heather Alexander at The Roomz, Western Road. Entry is £5.

On Saturda (March 8) from 8pm sees the Ladyfest Finale with performance poetry by Kate Tym, Gwyneth Wint and Cait Lin HT and music by Rebecca Mason, Lauren Bransby and Jerri Leigh Brodie at The Roomz. Entry is £5. For more information, see: https://www.facebook.com/events/210307452507519/
