After soaking up early pressure, a quick goal from a short corner was turned in by Richard Ward. St Francis knew it wouldn’t be easy, but were hopeful.

From a Chris Batch shirt corner. Horsham were rattled, but a lucky goal followed quickly by an even luckier own goal saw them take the lead. They added another before half time to leave the score at 3-1. A quick second half goal from nowhere didn’t make St Francis lose their heads, but despite long periods of pressure from the greens and several chances nothing would go in and Horsham got another. A final goal just before the whistle left the score at 6-1. For the keeper, Matt Upchurch, to get man of the match in a 6-1 loss shows how no one felt the score line was deserved, but ultimately St Francis lost to a well organised Horsham Second team.
