Bognor Regis east beach back in Good Beach Guide

Top quality seawater has earned Bognor Regis a renewed place in a beach handbook.

The town’s east beach has been put back in the latest edition of the Good Beach Guide issued by the Marine Conservation Society after it reclaimed its Blue Flag status.

This has enabled the beach to be categorised as one of the cleanest in the country, smashing mandatory targets for coastal cleanliness set by the EU.

The inclusion of Bognor in the guide has been welcomed by Butlin’s whose resort adjoins the award-winning stretch of beach.

Jeremy Pardey, the resort director at Butlin’s, said “We’re incredibly lucky to have such natural beauty in the shingle beach at Bognor Regis.

“But, at the same time, we are well aware of the great responsibility that comes with that.

“To be included in the Good Beach Guide is a great honour and a testament to the hard work that goes into its upkeep.”

He said Butlins would continue to work alongside the relevant authorities to ensure the beach retained its status as one of the best in the UK.
