Chichester University to come up with uses for Bognor's empty shops

A £10,000 research project has begun into empty shops and offices in central Bognor Regis.

The University of Chichester has been commissioned by Arun District Council to conduct the project to see if the premises have the potential to be used by business start-ups.

Cllr Norman Dingemans, the council’s cabinet member for economic and cultural development, has agreed to the initiative.

His decision notice stated: “This research could pave the way to an exciting project that will bring diversity to Bognor town centre as well as promoting enterprise.”

The research will consider all vacant commercial properties in the central area and if they could have an alternative use.
