Plans to convert Felpham pub into flats given green light
The owners of a pub in Felpham have been given permission to convert the building into flats.
The pub had been on the market 'for a number of years' but the owners said they had 'very little interest'.
"This, coupled with the recent pandemic, has resulted in the redundancy of four employees and a business, whose future is uncertain," an application document read.
The existing property comprises a public house on the ground floor, with one, five-bed flat on the first floor.
The approved conversion would see an additional three flats.
The planning statement read: "The property is located within a residential area and within easy reach of local services and facilities by sustainable modes of transport.
"The proposals will provide much needed housing with minimal internal and external changes, ensuring that the building will be maintained without any detrimental impact on the street scene or character of the area."
