Alison Moorey, chief executive of St Wilfrid's Hospice, said: "We are absolutely delighted to have been able top move from our shop in South Street to this fantastic location in the middle of Chichester and we look forward to welcoming a lot of shoppers and donors as everything that is purchased and donated to us will go towards helping local people."

Keen shoppers queued outside the shop this morning before being able to browse the some of the charities 'best pre-loved treasures'.

Trustee Julian Clayton added: "It's been quite heartwarming to have people walking past saying they are pleased to see that it is St Wilfrid's Hospice that has taken the empty premises."

Shop manager Sean O’Sullivan-Davey said: “The high street has gone through a lot of change but we know our customers value not only the terrific selection we’ve assembled but that every purchase helps a patient. It’s been a real team effort to open and couldn’t have happened without all of the support of the shop’s staff and volunteers.
