Students at Bohunt School Worthing are celebrating today after receiving their GCSE results.

Staff and students have joined together to mark the achievements of the 2023 cohort, who have shown great commitment, determination and hard work over the last few years to secure such strong results.

Achievements were celebrated across the school, with some of the standout individual highlights including: Imogen Godden who celebrated 11 GCSE results which included seven at Grade 9s, four at Grade 8, and a Grade 9 in further mathematics which she studied independently outside of curriculum time; Aman Rakesh who achieved five Grade 9s, four Grade 8s which includes further mathematics studied independently, and two Grade 7s; Daniel Cadogan who achieved four Grade 9s, four Grade 8s and two Grade 7s, and Imogen Turner who achieved a Grade 7 or higher in almost every GCSE subject including Grade 7 in Mandarin. Imogen has also been successful in gaining a place to study in China next year.

The separate sciences and interactive media celebrated some ‘fantastic’ results, with a ‘showstopping’ performance from food and cookery students where more than 50 per cent of students gained an equivalent grade 7 or better in the subject. There were some stunning individual performances to celebrate.

A spokesperson for the school said these results reflect Bohunt Worthing’s commitment to the Bohunt Education Trust’s ethos of ‘enjoy, respect, achieve’, which underpins the culture and outcomes of all its schools. This includes delivering unparalleled educational opportunities and highly effective teaching to nurture and develop students into becoming “game-changers”.

Together, the Trust and the school aim to support young people to flourish throughout their school journeys and then on into later life, with educational, enrichment and pastoral support both inside and outside the classroom.
