A GP in Hastings has opened a new telemedicine service, with same-day appointments from just £55.

An experienced doctor in Hastings has extended into private work, offering telephone or video appointments for new patients from around the county.

The private service is in addition to his NHS work as a local locum GP. Dr Ratheesh, or Dr Rad as he is known, has lived and worked in the Hastings area for 12 years, including seven years as a locum GP at various practices.

Bookings for his new services are available online via the website DRGP where 20 minute consultations start from £55. As a private GP he can offer private prescriptions, private referrals and private sick notes for up to two weeks.

In comparison, a typical NHS GP appointment is for 10 minutes so patients will be offered more time per appointment with Dr Rad. They will also avoid the frustrating 8.30am morning rush, waiting on hold for ages in the hope of an NHS GP appointment. With the online booking system, the patient can choose their time slot without having to book over the phone. They also know they are getting an appointment with Dr Rad, an experienced reputable GP.

What patients say

Dr Rad has already made a name on Doctify, the specialist healthcare review platform, where he says he is the number 1 most reviewed GP in the country on there with over 325 verified reviews in 2023. Verified patient reviews include “Brilliant advice and explained situation well”, “Very considerate, listened well, very understanding and explained everything brilliantly”, and “Great appointment. Took time to listen to lots of problems. Very thorough. Very polite. Nothing too much trouble.”

Dr Rad has plenty of experience, having conducted over 27,000 GP consultations over his seven years of NHS work in Sussex. The new service is open to anyone in England.

He added: “My new private clinic gives patients in the area a new way to speak to the same GP each time with longer appointment times.”

About the new telemedicine service

The service runs from Mondays to Fridays, clinic times may vary but will usually be open in the afternoon until 8pm. Weekend appointments may also be available where required if there is a demand.

As well as receiving hundreds of reviews online, Dr Rad was also awarded a certificate of Medical Excellence from Topdoctors UK.

Dr Ratheesh is also working with various clinical laboratories to provide patients with convenient home blood testing kits at an additional charge.

This is a telemedicine clinic with no facilities to offer face-to-face examination. The website explains what conditions can be treated via this service.
