Hedge harvest in Bersted Brooks

A double Christmas event will give volunteers the chance to look after trees as well as put presents on them.

The friends of Bersted Brooks are holding the twin sessions at the local nature reserve on December 10.

The first will be a hedgerow harvest from midday to 2pm. Lots of fruiting hedges will be available for planting to provide free food in an initiative by the Tree Council.

This will be followed by two hours of tree care with mulled wine and mince pies afterwards. Soft drinks, hot chocolate and biscuits will be on offer as well.

The sessions at the site north of Rowan Way are fun and free and a further sign of its success.
