200 more jobs at Southern Water, Durrington

SOUTHERN WATER is to employ 200 more staff at its Durrington headquarters.

Workers from the company's offices in Falmer, Chatham and Otterbourne will be moved to Southern House, in Yeoman Road, within six months.

The move will take the total number of staff at the office '“ Southern Water's home for 30 years '“ to around 860.

At Worthing Council agreed to allow Southern Water to extend its existing car park by 101 spaces to accommodate the influx of staff.

Despite concerns of neighbouring companies about the impact on rush- hour traffic leaving the area, officers said "no significant impacts on the road network are expected" and said the local economy would receive a boost from the move.
