A27 works next week at Crossbush and Chichester

MOTORISTS are being warned about two sets of roadworks on the A27 through West Sussex next week.

From Monday (April 27) to Thursday the A27 Crossbush junction will have lane closures and temporary traffic lights on the westbound exit slip road while worn sections of the road are resurfaced.

The work will be carried out between 8pm and 6am each night and speed limits will be reduced in the area. Through the roadworks, traffic will be escorted in convoy at 10 miles per hour.

Further west, on the A27 Chichester Bypass between Bognor Road roundabout and Oving crossroads, there will also be lane closures to allow resurfacing work, but on Monday night only.

Road users travelling northbound on the A27 will be unable to turn right into Shopwyke Road. They will be diverted to Portfield Roundabout to come back on the southbound carriageway to enter Shopwyke road.

Drivers travelling south on the A27 will be unable to turn right into Oving Road, and will be diverted to Bognor Road roundabout, to return to the northbound carriageway to enter Oving Road.

There will be a 50mph and 40mph speed limit in place and four-way temporary traffic lights. Road users will be escorted past the works in convoy at 10mph. The diversion routes will be fully signed whilst the right hand turn bans are in place.
