Alien abduction at Avisford Park Golf Course

Mulder and Scully might just have to dust of their FBI coats one last time for a new X-File alien abduction.

For the past nine months, Avisford Park Golf Course has proudly been displaying an unusual work by Bognor Regis blacksmith Bob Fuller.

His steel alien sculpture mysteriously vanished last weekend, leaving its owner scanning the skies for his much-loved work.

"My alien has been there since earlier this year and everyone really seemed to like him and wanted their picture taken with him.

"It is annoying that he's gone but I actually had to laugh when I heard that he had been abducted. With his pint of Guinness and a fag he's not your regular kind of artwork character, but people really seem to love him.

"It's such a strange thing to take as no-one could have him in their garden as he would be recognised instantly," said Mr Fuller, whose business is based in Barnham.

He added the golf club had been generous in allowing him to exhibit a wide range of works including a crocodile and Samurai sculpture.

But these were bypassed in favour of the extra-terrestrial work which had taken weeks to make.

"I was laughing all the time that i'd worked on the alien so I hope we're able to get him back as he was fun to make."

Anyone with information on the theft should contact Sussex Police on 0845 6070999.
