Brother Matthew, of St Leonards Road, Bexhill, said: "He had only just recently left school and started his electrician apprenticeship.

"He went off up to Tunbridge Wells every day doing that.

"That was his goal in life, to become an electrician."

Ashley attended Hastings College of Art and Technology one day a week and worked across East Sussex.

Matthew said: "He had lots of friends his age, all the way up to my age.

"He came to stay with me quite often.

"He liked to come round at the weekend and we had his friends round.

"And he liked listening to music - he was a big fan of music."

Ashley, who lived with his mum Amanda Allen, was also brother to Duncan Budgen, 22.

Mary Barber, who's son Anthony was best friends with Ashley, said she would always remember Ashley's "laugh and cheeky grin".

Mrs Barber, who lives in the High Street, Ninfield, said: "He was liked by his peers and adults alike.

"All his teachers loved him.

"His brothers, his brother's friends, his neighbours and certainly all the chaps he's been out working with and the blokes at the rugby club."

Ashley's grandmother Pam Thurston, said: "He had a wicked sense of humour.

"He had very smiley eyes.

"He loved cooking and he rather enjoyed organising his mates houses.

"He enjoyed doing the cleaning and washing.

"He was just himself and it got through to everybody and he was incredibly loved by the rest of the kids which was excellent."
