Author couple give books to libraries

A pair of authors who moved to Brighton from Spain have given copies of their most recent books to local libraries.

A pair of authors who moved to Brighton from Spain have given copies of their most recent books to local libraries.

Harry and Chris Duffin moved to Westdene earlier this year.

Mr Duffin, an award-winning TV writer, whose credits include Eastenders, Coronation Street and Howards's Way, gave copies of his first novel, Chicago May, and another book, The Birth of the Mall Rats, which is based on the teen-cult TV show The Tribe, which the writer co-created.

His wife, Chris, who had a 20-year career as a UK prison governor, gave copies of Jail Times, an amusing memoir of her time as a woman in the largely-male prison service, including being the first woman into the notorious Dartmoor Prison.

The couple presented the books to Nigel Imi at Brighton's Jubilee Library which was recently named the UK's second busiest.
