Benefit gig raises more than £2,000 for charity

BEXHILL'S Waterfront Club was host to a Benefit Gig in aid of The Sara Lee Trust with guests dancing the night away to music provided by local bands and raising over £2,000 for the charity.

Bands providing the music were The Lucky Ones and Jiggery Pokery and Sara Lee’s fundraising manager, Maria Gonet said the event was a great success.

“The evening raised an incredible £2,186.91 for the Trust and we would like to thank Paul and Jackie Hamilton from The Waterfront Club and Dee Blake and Colin Chapman for making this event happen and for their incredible support of the Trust’s work

“Huge thanks must also go to the two bands who played for free and really got the crowd going; to all the local businesses who donated raffle prizes and to everyone who came along. It was a great night, and we are so thrilled that the event raised so much in this difficult economic climate.”

The Sara Lee Trust provides complementary therapies, creative arts therapies, counselling and sanctuary days to people living with cancer and Motor Neurone Disease in Hastings, Rother and Rye

Maria added: “We are holding our Christmas fair for all the family at St.John’s Church, Pevensey Road, St Leonards, on Saturday November 26 from 10.30am to 3pm - so please come and join us for fabulous food and gift stalls, children’s craft table and stalls and of course - Father Christmas.”
