TRIBUTE: A very good tribute went round the village to our vicar Gordon, who died on June 12. It was in the form of a very small book and contained Ecclesiastes 3, 1-14 - ‘To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under the heavens’ What was the purpose of Gordon to die? He is now at peace. We will remember Gordon. He is sorely missed.

CRICKET: The Cricket Club are away to Alfriston on August 7 with a 2pm start.

SUPERMARKET: Many residents went to the Budgens store at Hawkhurst. Now Waitrose have the supermarket and the entire premises will be refurbished and will re-open on September 29. The opening hours will be 7am to 10pm daily. During the re-fit the Post Office will be in Dunk’s, on Rye Road, operating on Mondays and Thursdays from 1.30pm to 4pm.
