BREAKING NEWS: Littlehampton travellers ordered to move

TRAVELLERS occupying The Green, in Littlehampton, have just 24 hours to vacate the site, Arun District Council announced today (Tuesday, July 30).

Arun has issued the ultimatum to the group of more than a dozen travellers to leave the site by this time tomorrow.

A council spokeswoman said: “We attended court this morning and obtained an order for possession of the land which stipulates that the travellers must leave the site immediately.

“Officers from the private sector housing and public health team have now served these papers on the travellers who we expect to have moved from the site within 24 hours.”

They group have been on the land for a week after gaining access through a break in the fencing around the field.

Officers from Sussex Police are aware of the situation.
