Easter Lillies: The cost for white lilies will again be £2.00 a stem. Please contact Sue Sturmey 01424 882544 if you would like to purchase or donate lilies in St George’s Church for Easter in memory of a loved one, also give her the details of those whom you wish to be included ‘In Memoriam’ list. If you would prefer other blooms to be used this can also be arranged.

Friday 20 March. Pilates is at 9am in Udimore Community Hall. Brede Farmers Market is from 10am – 12 noon in Brede Village Hall with ample car parking and conveniently placed for the local weekly shop of fruit, veg, fish, meat, bakery & dairy produce, apple juice, curry’s; plants, cards and small furniture items. I’ve possibly missed something out, as it was quite full last Friday. The Friendly Circle ladies will as usual be serving coffee. The stallholders will be holding their Charity raffle nearer to Easter; as soon as I have more details I will give them to you. Brede’s Short Mat Bowlers are in Brede Village Hall at 7.30pm this evening. WEA is in Udimore Community at 7.30

In the Rainbow Trout tonight the long running band Ricochet will be playing in the bar at from 8.30pm. The first 100 names for the Lions Easter egg has been filled in and another list has started as another egg has been drooped off at the pub. The draw takes place Easter Sunday so you still have time to buy a number and support St Michael’s Hospice.

Saturday 21 March: If you are out walking or with your dog can I please ask you to take a bag in your pocket and if you see litter please pick it up. It was so disappointing after our efforts to clear up, that the very next day where we had been litter appeared. If you are interested in joining a team of litter pickers could you contact me please? If there are enough of us perhaps we could have a rota throughout the year.

Sunday 22 March the Church Services are as follows: Father Anthony White conducts the Mass service at 9.00 am in St Theresa’s Catholic Church on the old Northiam Road, if you need to contact the Father his number is 01424 773125 9.30am. The Family Eucharist will be celebrated at St George’s Church. Father Martin can be reached on 01424 883408. The 10.30am service will be by local arrangement this week at the Methodist Church in Broad oak.

Uniformed groups - The Guiding section meet in the small hall of Brede Village Hall the Rainbows meet from 4.15- 5.15pm, they welcome girls aged between 5-7 years, the Brownies meet from 5pm – 6.30pm for girls 7-11 years old. Tuesday 24 March Pilates take place in Udimore Community Hall at 9am Brede Luncheon Club meets 12.30pm, new members or visitors are welcome but please contact Christine Purkiss 01424 882274 as she needs to know if you are attending for numbers and dietary considerations, she can also give you more information about the club. Flamenco dancing is at 12 noon in Udimore Community Hall

At the Scout Hut in Stubbs Lane from 7pm – 9pm 1st Brede Scouts meet and this evening the scouts should be doing their Emergency aid Stage 2 this evening. If you have a particular skill that you could share with any section within the group please contact Colin Ward as above or any of the section leaders. Mobile Library Services today start in Reeds wood Road 1.25pm – 2pm then in Brede Village hall car park from 2.10pm – 2.40pm

Friday 27 March. Brede Farmers Market is from 10am – 12 noon in Brede Village Hall. Brede’s Short Mat Bowlers set up at 7.30pm in Brede Village Hall. Support St Michaels Hospice by going Yellow and try and find ways of making a few bob for this worthwhile venture then make a donation. Brede Angling Club are keen for new members to join. The fishing rights held by the club are for Kingwoodland pond and members are also able to fish in the Military Canal from Scots Float, Rye and Appledore and various stretches of the Rother Membership is £ 7.00 for the under 16’s and £20.00 for 16 & over. Brede Cricket Club is getting set for a new season and are looking for new recruits. The Skipper Andy Fryer 01323 732914 or vice – captain Graeme Dinning 07941228866 would be pleased to hear from you. They also have an email address [email protected] and you can find them on Facebook at the Mighty Brede Cricket Club. Their first match is on April the 19th against Netherfield practising will no doubt start soon so do not delay in getting in touch if you fancy wielding a bat.
