Broadwater gym members' charity booze and sex ban

WOMEN from a Broadwater gym are putting their self-control to the test.

Staff and clients from Curves in Broadwater Road have been giving up some of their much-loved treats '“ including chocolate, alcohol and sex '“ for the whole of November, to raise money for Breast Cancer Awareness.

Manager of Curves Worthing, Alison Pipe, 41, said: "We wanted to do something that was a struggle so we decided that the three of us who like to drink would give it up.

"Lots of ladies are joining in '“ two women are going without chocolate and one woman is going without sex."

"It has been the hardest week of my life," said Alison. "I can't wait until December 1.

"People come up asking how we are feeling. You do not realise how easy it is to go home and open a bottle of wine.

"One of the girls said she has lost 5Ibs by not drinking."

The women are hoping to raise at least 1,000 for the charity.

Alison said: "We have got quite a few members who have had breast cancer or have had relatives with it."

Anyone who gives a substantial donation will be a given a two-week free gym pass.

At Curves in Goring, bras adorned with fruit, a pair of stuffed gloves and a spook-tacular theme were just some of the fun items created in aid of Breast Cancer Awareness.

Around 40 women raised 68 by using their imagination to create decorated bras.
