Burwash

Bur-fest - The long awaited/ planned for Burwash festival is almost upon us. Tickets have been sold and anticipation is great for the muscal event of the year. It is being held in fields at The Bear Motel, Burwash. Local groups including Proud Mary, Pearl Handled Revolver, snakebite Skarlettos, railroad and Blacktooth Grin will perform throughout the day. The event is being staged in two sections, from 12noon to 5.30pm and from 6.30pm to 11pm. tomorrow, Saturday. There are a few tickets left for the afternoon session. Music - Tonight is music night at the Pavilion in Burwash Common. Local talented people will be there to entertain you with music, singing or both! You are all welcome to go along and enjoy their renditions. THe licenced bar will be open. If you enjoy singing or playing a musical instrument then why not go along and take part. The fun begins at 8pm.

Walk - The next walk for strollers will take place on Wednesday morning at 9am leaving from the Bear car park. Anyone who enjoys a gentle walks in good company is welcome to go along, people who have moved away from the village often come back to joion the walks and catch up with old friends. Tea - Lynda & Richard Maude-Roxby invite you to join them for tea at Mount House, High Street Burwash on Wednesday afternoon from 2.30pm. Entry is £5 and includes tea with cakes. A raffle and a bring & buy stall will also be run. All in aid of Admiral Nurses for dementia care in the community, East Sussex.

Whist - The next whist drive will take place on Thursday evening from 7pm at the Burwash village hall. Entry is £3 per person and includes 20 rounds of cards and light refreshments. We also hold a raffle. These evennings are fun and all levels of playing ability are catered for. The team apologise to nayone who turned out last time, unfortunately because of holidays and ill health there wasn’t enough to run it. All back to nrmal this month and we look forward to seeing you there.
