Regeneration company Sir Richard Hotham Project Ltd has pledged to help the funding which the music and arts festival requires yearly.

But the money will only be available if the company receives planning permission from Arun District Council for its £80m scheme for the Hothamton and Regis Centre sites. The decision is due to be made at the end of this month.

The sponsorship deal was agreed between Thomas Elliott, a director of Sir Richard Hotham Ltd, and Robin Parker, for Rox.

As reported, this year has seen a large gap in the available funding for the July festival and its £45,000 cost.

Mr Parker said: “It’s been refreshing to have had three meetings with the Sir Richard Hotham team and find them so committed to making sure that music and live performance continues to play a pivotal role in the future development of Bognor.”

The Sir Richard Hotham team also offered the use of its proposed 1,100-seat theatre on Hothamton to enable Rox to enlarge its programme.

The money would secure Rox for 2016 and ‘well into the future’, said Mr Parker.
