Mrs Gadd selected SASBAH as her charity for the year in her role as chair of Rother District Council, afetr son Andrew died aged 31. He had spina bifida.

More than 500 was raised on the evening.

Mrs Gadd thanked Beverley for giving up her time; James Kimber from the hotel for providing top quality food; and everyone who supported the evening.

Strong winds meant the BBQ was held indoors, but that wasn't a problem for the guests.

Beverley said, 'SASBAH is a wonderful small charity that does so much for over 400 families throughout Sussex.
