County's transport plan

A BLUEPRINT for the future of transport in West Sussex has been published by West Sussex County Council.

The Transport Plan, which covers the period 2011 to 2026, has been produced after extensive consultation with local communities and stakeholder. Key aims are:

n Improvements to the A27 at Chichester, Arundel and Worthing.

n Programmed improvements to the A23 between Handcross and Warninglid.

n Maintaining the condition of the county’s roads.

n Continuing to work with local communities to improve road safety, provide access to services and encourage healthy and sustainable travel.

The document, approved by county council, sets out aims for improvements to the transport system across each district and borough.

It is a long-term strategy, looking at issues and challenges being faced during the next 15 years.
