Reward offered for burglary suspect seen in Rye

A £500 reward is on offer for information leading to the arrest of a burglary suspect seen in Rye.

Police are searching for Darryl Matthew Dempsey, who is wanted for interview about a series of offences including burglaries at business premises, fraud and driving offences, on various dates this year.

The 22-year-old has been seen recently in the Wealden area, Eastbourne and Rye.

A reward of £500 is being offered by Sussex Police for information which leads to his arrest and conviction.

Dempsey is described as white, 5’8”, of slim to medium build, with brown hair and blue eyes

Inspector Tony Wakefield of the Wealden Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “”We urgently need to speak to Darryl Dempsey and we ask that anyone with information about his whereabouts emails [email protected] or call 101 quoting serial 468 of 26/07.

“You can also call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

“But if you actually see Dempsey please call 999 immediately and do not approach him.”
