Daring dive will support Climping charity

PLUNGING through the sky at adrenalin-pumping speeds is exactly what one Littlehampton woman is doing to help a needy charity.

Michaela Talbot will step out of a plane and into the blue on Sunday, as she makes a tandem skydive from almost two miles high, in support of the Carers Trust.

The 23-year-old, who works for the Chichester branch of Britannia, which is part of The Co-operative Bank, will reach speeds of 120mph during her daring dive over the Salisbury Plain.

But she has already flown through her initial fund-raising target of £600.

An anxious Michaela said: “The thought of jumping from 10,000ft is both nerve-wracking and exciting and I am delighted with the support and encouragement that I have received so far. I have seen first-hand the challenges of caring and was determined to do my bit to support this worthwhile cause.”

The Climping-based Carers Trust is the Co-operative’s charity of the year.

It aims to raise to raise £5m for the trust, which will enable the charity to provide desperately-needed breaks and other support services for thousands of unpaid young carers.
