Don't make it easy for thieves in the warm weather

MOTORISTS across the Bognor Regis area have been warned not to take chances in the hot weather and lock their vehicles.

Officers from the Arun district policing teams have provided the reminder to drivers to secure their vehicles and remove any valuables from sight, in light of the recent warm weather.

The advice should be considered particularly when leaving vehicles unoccupied at beauty spots, car parks
and even outside your
home.

Owners should always take care when leaving their vehicles and try to park in well-lit areas.

Care should also be taken to make sure all windows are closed and doors locked.

Many thefts reported recently have been from unlocked cars and vans with items left out on display.

Short clips which show how easy and quick it is for an opportunist thief to take advantage can be viewed at www.youtube.com/user/ArunDistrictPolice.
