DRIVER SUFFERS SERIOUS HEAD INJURIES

An ambulance crew from East Grinstead, plus "Hotel 900" the joint police/ambulance helicopter and a doctor last night (March 9) attended a serious crash at Hartfield.

Ambulance control were alerted by a 999 call at 10.55pm, with the caller giving details of a single vehicle crash on the B2110 at Gallipot Hill. An ambulance crew from East Grinstead were immediately sent to the scene along with Hotel 900 and a SIMCAS doctor, when the seriousness of the incident became apparent.

At the scene, the crew discovered a single patient, the driver of the vehicle involved, who was trapped. After approximately 45 minutes, he was freed by ambulance and fire crews.

The patient had received very serious head and other injuries and, after being treated at the scene, was taken by ambulance to the Kent & Sussex Hospital at Tunbridge Wells.
