Emily’s skydive for the lung cancer foundation

A STUDENT from Chichester has raised more than £2,000 for a cancer foundation by completing a charity skydive.

Emily Wyatt, a Year 12 student from Chichester 
High School for Boys and Girls, decided to take part in the skydive as her grandmother had passed away from lung cancer in June earlier this year.

She chose to raise money for the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation, which is the only charity wholly dedicated to defeating lung cancer, despite the fact 
that it is the biggest cancer killer in the UK.

To help raise money, Emily took part in several fundraising ventures leading up to the skydive.

She collected sponsors, organised a raffle, held a cake sale, and asked the school if they could hold a non-school-uniform day.

Tracey Waller, marketing and publicity co-ordinator for Chichester High School, said: “Thank you to everyone who donated and helped her 
reach her total, an amazing amount of £2003.38!

“Emily said that she really enjoyed the skydive and hopes to do even more fundraising in the future.

The Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation helps to fund lung cancer research, as well as hosting lung cancer awareness campaigns and providing information and support about the disease.

It also promotes stop smoking campaigns.
