A spokesperson for the chartered surveyor, who have offices based in Horsham, said: “Having recently placed the former Waitrose building on the market we have received a number of enquiries, some of which are limited to part only of the former store.

“Both we and the landlords are reviewing the enquiries. The landlord is also in discussion with the council regarding alternative use for the property which may involve redevelopment.”

Waitrose left the store back in June after 25 years of trading in the building.

The supermarket moved into its news premises in Albion Way a day later in company’s second co-located shop featuring both Waitrose and retailer John Lewis.

It has still not been confirmed who has enquired about the site.
