Estate agents simply close

LOCAL estate agents Simply Homes, appear to have closed both their offices and ceased trading with no word or warning to clients.

Branches at Western Road, Bexhill and Grand Parade, St Leonards on Sea have not been open since before Christmas and it's rumoured that staff at the St Leonards office were told on Christmas Eve that they no longer had a job.

A trader in Western Road claims the Bexhill office has also been closed since before Christmas but added that proprietor Mark Campbell has been seen in the town recently.

On calling the Bexhill office there is a recorded message which says: "Thank you for calling Simply Homes, your call is important to us and we will be with you shortly."

A similar message can be heard on calling the St Leonards office; both these messages appear to be on a loop and no one actually answers the call.

In response to Observer enquiries a spokesperson from the National Association of Estate Agents (NAEA) of whom Simply Homes are members said: "They may have stopped trading but we haven't been notified, we have no information at all at this time."
