Final call for volunteers at this year's Brighton Marathon

American Express is making a last call for Sussex residents to become part of the Team Brighton volunteer programme ahead of the Brighton Marathon.

The Brighton Marathon Weekend takes place on April 13 to 15, with the 26-mile marathon, the 10k event and the Cancer Research UK teen and kids 'mini mile' races.

American Express, the marathon's community partner, has supported the volunteer programme since the first Brighton Marathon in 2010.

Volunteers already registered including Amex colleagues (pictured) attended a briefing evening last week (March 22) at the Clarendon Centre at Church of Christ The King, Brighton, where they were provided with key information, tips and advice to ensure they are fully prepared for their roles.

Last year’s event was supported by around 1,600 volunteers from across Sussex.

Volunteers have many varied roles including call centre staff, medical professionals and sports masseurs.

Also drivers, marshals and those manning drinks stations along the route.
