Friday evening prayers held at Youth CentreMuslim community welcomes dignitaries

A warm welcome was extended to local dignitaries by Bexhill Muslim community at Friday congregational prayers at Bexhill Youth Centre on February 12. Bexhill Town Mayor, Maurice Watson was joined by Rother District Council Chair Cllr Jimmy Carroll and central ward Cllr Abul Azad.

The Mayor congratulated the community for acquiring the property for the Islamic Centre at Clifford Road, currently undergoing renovation. He also spoke of the similarity between Islam and Christianity. About the Prophets; Abraham, Adam, Noah, Moses, Jacob, David and Jesus and how they performed their roles, saying that we all come from the same God and to be united to make this world a better place. The event ended with a round of applause.
