'˜Ho ho oh no'! Christmas confusion as town centre decorations installed in residential road
Businesses part of the Town Centre Initiative (TCI) pay for the decorations and this year decided to trial the eco-friendly trees in Bath Place, Worthing.
But the trees initially ended up almost a mile away in Bath Road after the suppliers, based in the north of England mixed the two locations up.

Hide AdTown centre manager Sharon Clarke said: “The TCI have been asked for a while to provide festive lighting for the independent traders in the West End and Bath Place and so this year we decided to trial some solar-powered Christmas trees.
“The cost of putting in power makes it prohibitive to extend the displays and so when the solar option became available the TCI thought it was worth giving them a go.
“The company who provide these don’t know the area. When they Googled Bath Place they inadvertently picked up a link to Bath Road and so put the three organised for Bath Place in a residential road.
“Luckily it came to my attention quickly and they were moved the next day.”
