Intrepid Felicity back at sea level after scaling the roof of Africa

A Felpham fundraiser swapped the highest point of a continent for a run along a seafront in her marathon charity quest.

Felicity Paton climbed Mount Kilimanjaro on September 2 and stood 5,895m above sea level.

But Sunday saw her back at sea level when she lined up for the Littlehampton 10k run.

Her high-altitude training paid off because she crossed the finishing line in a personal best of 47m 34s.

Next stop is the Stansted 13-mile slog this Sunday as Felicity nears the end of her epic endeavour for the Samaritans in Bognor Regis.

She said: "It's very exciting. I've got six events left which seems like a lot but it's not too many when you consider I've done 15 so far.

"My fundraising is up to 1,500 and there is more money coming in all the time."

Felicity, 27, of Crossbush Road, began her fundraising six months ago in the Hastings half-marathon.

She has since completed runs in Lymington, Portsmouth, Bognor and the New Forest.
