It's the forts that count for Tone Zone athletes
There was no bank-holiday weekend rest for Bognor's Tone Zone runners.
Paul Coe was again the busiest runner, competing in two long races. The first was the Wickham Whistler Marathon on Saturday followed on Sunday by the Three Forts Half Marathon. These were completed in 4hr 08min and 2.10 respectively.
Also running the half marathon and coming out of semi-retirement was Felicity Paton, who achieved a very creditable time of 2.00.
Sam Grover ran the Three Forts Marathon in 4.52.
Jackie Williamson, Jo Hinckley and Jude Bazeley ran in the Pony Express Ultra. This is a 31-mile race covering every type of terrain in the New Forest. All three finished around the 6hr 30min mark.
Sarah Santer yet again proved it’s only worth doing a race if you’re waist-deep in mud and water. She ran the Brutal 10k in 1.16.
There were other races for Tone Zoners in Haywards Heath, East Grinstead and Burgess Hill.
Tone Zone times: Brutal 10k - Sarah Santer 1.16.43. Pony Express New Forest Ultra - Jackie Williamson 6.29.27; Jo Hinckley 6.29.27; Jude Bazeley 6.35.00. Wickham Whistler Marathon - Paul Coe 4.08.28.
