Limber up now for the big Santa Fun Run for St Wilfrid's Hospice

Patients, carers, supporters and those who have recently lost loved ones can look forward to a busy Christmas at St Wilfrid's Hospice.

Fundraisers are organising their fourth annual Santa Fun Run '“ a one-mile sponsored run around Fontwell Park racecourse '“ on Sunday, November 22. Gates open at 10.30am.

It's 10 for adults, 5 for five to 16-year-olds and prizes will be awarded to the best Santas.

The popular Light Up A Life Service takes place in Chichester Cathedral on Sunday, December 6.

The carol service, from 6pm includes readings, the lighting of candles and an opportunity to remember loved ones.

The hospice's chef is creating Christmas menus for patients and planning a Christmas dinner for people spending their first Christmas alone.

Open House gives people going through similar emotions an opportunity to relax and chat among themselves in a safe environment.

Staff will be decorating the hospice, looking after the musicians who entertain the day hospice patients, organising a thank-you event for their volunteers and wrapping presents for patients.

The hospice will benefit from the sale of Cards for Good Causes at the Assembly Rooms, Chichester.

The shop is open until Monday, December 21.

The Midhurst shop is in Capron House, North Street and is open until Thursday, December 17.

A new Renault Twingo is the prize in the St Wilfrid's grand prize draw. The winner will be drawn at midday on Friday, December 18. Tickets are 1 and available from all the hospice's charity shops and the fundraising department '“ call 01243 755827.
