Littlehampton school closed by drainage problems

DRAINAGE problems at a Littlehampton school meant its 360 pupils had a day off today (Friday, April 24).

Flora McDonald Junior School, Wick, was closed today as a result of the problems with the toilets and drains, which first developed yesterday.

A statment on the school's website said it had not been possible to solve the problem, and there was no alternative but to close the school on health and safety grounds, to both staff and pupils.

"We stress that we are hoping to have the situation resolved as soon as possible," the statement added.

Further information will be given on the Flora McDonald website and the school is expected to be open as normal from Monday.
