Netherfield

Scoop: Councillor Resigns: One of the two councillors who represent Netherfield, has decided that the time has come to pursue other interests. Sylvie Prye has been an active member of the Netherfield village community for a considerable period of time and it was a natural progression for her to become a member of the Council. Her various roles included a spell in planning. When I asked her for a comment on her decision she said; “I would like to thank everyone for their support but after 5 years and an increased work load I no longer felt able to fully commit to the council and I didn’t want to let people down by not doing it to the best of my ability.” I am sure we all wish her the best for the future.

Netherfield Fete 2016: Calling all residents of Netherfield. We must not lose the identity of our village. One way to keep its character is through the annual fete. In the past this was a regular feature but circumstances have seen many local activities discontinued. Whilst it may seem that it is a long way off (July Or August 2016), there are many challenges to resolve before the bunting can be flying, and the stalls and amusements are in place. Insurance; health and safety considerations; flyers; these are just some of the many obstacles to overcome. What we need first of all is an indication of whether this proposal would be welcomed by the community. You can show your support by contacting Marrissa in Netherfield Village Stores or emailing “[email protected]”.

Mobile Library: The East Sussex Mobile Library will be outside the Netherfield Stores at 13.00 on Tuesday 18 August 2015. It will remain there until 13.20.
