New Co-op store in Pebsham

Local football stars and cricketers take on star status when they perform the ribbon cutting ceremony to officially launch the £275,000 new Co-op food store in Pebsham.

The members of Sidley Cricket Club's junior Colts team '“ Asante, Luke, Jason and George and Glenco Junior Football Club members '“ Danny, Charlie, Jacob, Stephanie, Toni, Jade and Chloe '“ were presented with donations of 250 for each club's funds by store manager Peter Bryan.

"As a community retailer it is appropriate that we involve the community in our special events and we were delighted our budding local football and cricket stars could play a central role in the launch of our store," said Peter.

The former Premier convenience store, which was acquired by the

Co-operative Group last month, was transformed with a 275,000 revamp and conversion to the consumer-owned retailer's popular convenience format.

It features The Co-operative Group's new identity, The co-operative, which aims to highlight improved service standards across its 4,500 outlets in the UK, including its travel, pharmacy, funerals and bank branches, as well as its commitment to supporting local communities and ethical trading policies.
