New community facilities for East Grinstead

UP to £200,000 towards the improvement of community facilities in East Grinstead is being contributed by Mid Sussex District Council's cabinet.

The Parish Halls Charity, with assistance from East Grinstead Town Council is heading a project to rebuild the central element of the parish hall building. The improvements will provide better community facilities for the people of East Grinstead and a permanent home for East Grinstead Age Concern.

East Grinstead has an ageing population and the current Age Concern building is not equipped to meet the increasing needs of the elderly community.

The present building can only accommodate 40 guests but the new facility will be able to more than double that figure, accommodating 100 guests per day.
