Is this the way to treat a visitor?

On Bank Holiday Monday, I had a student come to me from Brazil.

She had travelled through the night and across London and come down on the Ashford line to Hastings.

She then tried to get a taxi to me, but the driver would not bring her.

He said Amherst Road was just around the corner and told her to turn left at the end of Station Parade.

Well if he is reading this, he needs to look at his map, as it is Priory Road and quite a way up the hill to come to Amherst Road.

She did not look to see which taxi firm it was as she was very tired and really astonished.

Is this the way to treat any visitors to Hastings? It gives us a bad name.

I have been told that taxis are not allowed to refuse a fare, other than for a drunk individual or animals.
