He argues that there was a poll showing that the people wanted more clear information from the Government over the EU question. I am sure those replying to the poll were not asked if they would like the information to be totally one sided and come in a glossy format at a cost to the taxpayer of nearly £10 million.
Sir Nicholas then goes on to try to defend the document’s claim that 3 million British jobs depend on being in the EU, without even mentioning (by their method of assumption) that 5/6 million EU jobs are reliant on UK imports.

Hide AdOur Member of Parliament appears to be at odds with the rest of the Conservative Party in Mid Sussex, as I have been reliably informed that about 80% of Mid Sussex Councillors are for leaving. I do understand why Sir Nicholas supports the EU as his father Lord (Christopher) Soames was Vice-President of the European Commission (unelected) from 1973 to 1976. Perhaps he would be better taking note of what his grandfather Sir Winston Churchill said concerning Europe: “We are with Europe but not of it. We are linked but not comprised” and “If Britain must choose between Europe and the open sea, she must always choose the open sea”.
I for one look forward to the day when our proud country once again makes all the laws in this land and we are no longer subject to the dictates of a bunch of unelected bureaucrats in Brussels.
